Minard Wayne Monical's Obituary
Minard W. Monical, age 91, of Howard, Kansas passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, Kansas. Minard was born August 15, 1916 in Grandview, Oregon the son of Calvin and Ada Bowser Monical.
Minard attended school at the Highland Rural School, Upper Paw Paw, and graduated in 1935 from Severy High School. After high school Minard farmed with his parents on their family north of Howard until he enlisted in the Army Air Corps on October 30, 1942. During his military service Minard worked as a cook and a mechanic until his discharge on February 26, 1946. After his service to his country Minard came back to the farm where he would remain until his retirement.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Howard, American Legion Carter Rader Post 149, Paw Paw Township Board, ASC Community Committee, and served as the sexton for the Cresco Cemetery for many years. In his spare time Minard enjoyed bowling and won several trophies throughout the state as a bowler.
He is survived by several cousins

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Monday, December 17, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Howard, Kansas with Pastor Gene DeWitt officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be at South Lawn Cemetery, Severy, Kansas. Memorials may be made to either First Baptist Church or American Legion Carter Rader Post 149 and may be sent to Countryside Funeral Home P.O. Box 247, Fredonia, KS 66736.
