Nadine Timmons' Obituary
Nora Nadine Timmons, age 95 of Fredonia, KS, passed away June 28, 2023 at her home.
Nadine was born December 18, 1927 in Fredonia to Alonzo and Etta May (Carroll) Conrad. She grew up alongside 6 siblings, and graduated from Fredonia High School in the mid 1940’s.
On November 23, 1947, Nadine married Homer Mark Timmons. Together, they raised 3 children on the family farm and were married over 48 years, until his passing in May 1996. They spent most of their time farming, while Nadine also found time to work as Telephone Operator at the Fredonia Telephone Office. Her most important job though, was raising her children, and in her words, spoiling them.
Nadine was a member of the First Christian Church in Fredonia and was active with her family, who were the most important part of her life.
Nadine is survived by her daughter, Mary McGinnis of Independence, KS
Daughters in law: Faye Timmons of Fredonia, KS, and Marie (Timmons) Acton of Minneola, KS
Grandchildren: Bobbi Switlik of Pittsburg, KS, Chris McGinnis, Jim Timmons of Pittsburg, KS, Nathan McGinnis, Tiffany (Jesse) Wolf of Goddard, KS, and Thomas (Madison) Timmons of Cimarron, KS
6 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren
Numerous nieces and nephews
Sisters, Ida Buchanan of Fredonia, KS, and Harriet Snyder of Wier, KS
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mark, sons: Thomas Timmons and Timothy Timmons, siblings: E.J. Conrad, Martin Conrad, Lola Reinhart, Betty Youngstrom, and infant siblings, Lee and Lulu.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia, KS. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service.
Interment will follow in Fredonia City Cemetery.
