Nancy Jane Haines (Dunaway) Fail's Obituary
Nancy Jane Haines (Dunaway) Fail passed away in Frisco, TX on December 5, 2018. Born May 31, 1930, Nancy was married to Gene Dunaway in 1948, until his death in 1970. She married Marion Fail in 1972.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Gene Dunaway and Marion Fail; parents, Bernice and Frank Haines; sister, Norma Beck; and brother, Jim Haines.
Nancy was born and raised in Chanute and was a resident most of her life. She and Marion also lived in Garnett, KS until relocating back to Chanute. She worked for many years at Top Hat Cleaners and also assisted Marion in the grocery store business in Garnett and Chanute.
Nancy is survived by her children, Vicky Alcock and husband Steve of Frisco, TX and Mike Dunaway and wife Terri of Wichita, KS; stepchildren, Cheryl Detwiler and husband Mike of Ottawa, KS, Cathy Brummell and husband Dave of Garnett, KS, Jeff Fail of Garnett, KS, Paula Mader and husband Fred of Ottawa, KS, Mark Fail and wife Jeanne of Independence, MO; brother, Gary Haines and wife Golda of Mustang, OK; sister, Marilyn Sue Cushman and husband Ken of Chanute, KS; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; and 20 step-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Neosho County Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
