Nancy Sue Summervill's Obituary
Nancy Sue Summervill, 80, was born on November 3, 1945, to Guy T. Baker and Betty Lou English Baker. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2026, in Kansas City, surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend whose great joy was her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, James Arthur Summervill; her son, Craig Summervill; and her sister, Sherry Baker.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Randy Summervill and daughter-in-law, Andrea Summervill; her sisters, Pat Howerton, Janet Knavel, Sandy Williams, and Traci Ridge; her many nieces and nephews; along with extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
Nancy dedicated many years of her life to caring for others as a Certified Medical Assistant. Even in retirement, she continued to serve her community by volunteering at the food pantry in Humboldt. She had a special love for sewing and working with fabric, finding joy in creating beautiful things with her hands. She was also an avid reader who enjoyed a good book. For the last several years, Nancy stayed active and made it a point to walk about a mile each day, weather permitting! She looked forward to her daily walks and visiting with neighbors from time to time.
Nancy's generous spirit and unwavering devotion to her family, friends, and community will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Countryside Funeral Home, 101 North Highland Avenue, Chanute, Kansas 66720. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Humboldt.
