1933-2025
Naomi Lee Chestnut, 92, passed away in Wichita, Kansas, on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
She graduated from high school in 1949 and obtained degrees in psychology, english, nursing, and business administration. She worked as a para-professional counselor, nursing home administrator, hospital administrator, and registered nurse.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alma Hamel and Milton Webster; husband Kenneth Chestnut; daughter Jackie Burley; son Richard Dietrich; sister Dixie Lambert; grandson Derrick Burley; grandson Jeremy Braun; son-in-law Don Feld; and daughter-in-law Sand Dietrich.
She is survived by her son Larry Dietrich of Chanute, Kansas, daughter, Cindy Braun of Aurora, Colorado; daughter Linda Feld of Wichita, Kansas; and brother Virgil Webster of Sandersville, Georgia; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chanute, Kansas, on September 30, 2025. Rosary at 1:00 pm and a funeral mass at 1:30 pm. Naomi will be laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery in Humboldt, Kansas. Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home.
