Naomi Jean Cordner's Obituary
Naomi Jean Cordner, age 91 of Chanute, KS, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Country Place Senior Living in Chanute, KS. Naomi was born on May 12, 1928 in Iola, KS the daughter of Carl and Beulah (Osborne) Bedenbender. She graduated from Chanute High School in 1946 and then from Chanute Junior College in 1948.
Naomi was joined in marriage to Gene Cordner on August 31, 1965 in Chanute, KS. He preceded her in death on September 18, 1976. Gene and her enjoyed going bowling together. She loved animals and had many dogs and cats throughout the years. Naomi enjoyed being involved in the Chanute Community Theatre for many years during the 1980s. She was a 50 year member of the order of the Eastern Star and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chanute.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene; brother, James Bedenbender.
A visitation will be on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel in Chanute. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Chanute, KS. Burial will follow at Neosho County Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. The family suggests memorials to be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or Harry Hynes Hospice and may be mailed to the funeral home.
