Nona May Street's Obituary
Nona M. Street, age 80, a resident of Marion, Kansas and formerly of Howard, Kansas passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at the Newton Medical Center in Newton, Kansas. Nona was born in Eureka, Kansas on April 22, 1928 the daughter of Govey Wade and Maggie C. (Bateman) McCormick.
On June 10, 1945 Nona was united in marriage to Walter “Gene†Street at the Howard United Methodist Church. Nona was homemaker. She enjoyed doing crafts such as woodworking, ceramics, and macramé. Nona was a member of the EHU in Burns and the Stitch and Chatter in Burns.
Nona is survived by her son Rick Street of Pretty Prairie, Kansas, one daughter Autumn Hanson and her husband Doug of Marion, Kansas, four grandsons; Dakota Street of Plevna, Kansas, Travis Street of Moundridge, Kansas, Riley Ross and Royce Ross both of Marion, Kansas, one granddaughter Roxann Ross of Marion, Kansas and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene on November 24, 2008, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Grace Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to charity of choice. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.
