Opal M. McLean's Obituary
Opal M. McLean, 103, of Howard, Kansas died, Friday September 12, 2008 at the Howard Twilight Manor. Opal was born July 3, 1905 in Lincoln, Nebraska, she was one of five children born to John G. and Nellie M. (Bice) Munson.
On June 23, 1923 Opal married Charles S. McLean in Lincoln, Nebraska, They were married for 53 years until his death of 1976. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Howard. She was a past member of Grange, Ladies Aid, and the Ladies American Legion Auxiliary of Howard.
Opal was known for many years as Avon Sales Representative. She also sold Patron Mutual Insurance for many years. In her spare time when not working on the farm or taking care of her family, she loved to crochet.

Two Daughters: Louise M Cookson Howard, KS
Marie D. MaGee Independence, KS
17 Grandchildren and numerous Great and Great-Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by: Her husband Charles, son Charles J. McLean, daughter Lucille M. Parker, brother Virgil Munson, and three sisters: Marguerite Miller, Viola Mattox, Mildred Lucky.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 16th, 2008 at Grace Lawn Cemetery at 10:30 am with Pastor Charles Cryderman officiating. Visitation will be held from 2-9 pm Monday September 15th at Zimmerman Funeral Home. The family has suggested memorials be made to: Howard Twilight Manor, and may be left with the funeral home.
