Pat Riggs' Obituary
Patricia Elaine Riggs, age 85, a resident of rural Moline, Kansas passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013. She was born in Howard, Kansas on December 21, 1927 the daughter of Clifford “Buck” and Laura Geneva (Shipman) Nichols.
On May 5, 1946 Pat was united in marriage to Floyd Riggs in Howard, Kansas. Pat was a teacher, she worked in the school lunch room and she also was a Hunter Safety Instructor, a 4-H leader and a member of the Eastern Star. Pat drove school bus as well as wheat truck and tractors on the farm. She enjoyed telling stories, playing guitar and singing.
Pat is survived by two sons; Glenn Riggs of Sedan, Kansas and Rex Riggs of Arkansas City, Kansas, one daughter Lynda Marshall of Winfield, Kansas, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Floyd Riggs, one brother Jim Nichols, sisters; Collene Rush and Lori Odell and great granddaughter Reegan Riggs.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Sedan, Kansas. Family suggests contributions be made to the Kansas 4-H Foundation or Charity of Choice and may be left with the funeral home. Online condolence may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.
