Patricia L. Cooper's Obituary
Patricia L Cooper affectionately known by many as Miss Pat, Pat or Patty cake, passed
away on February 16th 2025 at the age of 83 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Born on September
6th, 1941, Pat dedicated her life to the wellbeing of others both as a daycare employee
and as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.
Pat was a lover of nature and animals embodying a spirit of care and compassion
throughout her life. She was an avid crocheter, creating special projects for those around
her and she was a talented cook, known for her delicious pies, no bake cookies, pork and bean bread
and bierocks.
Pat loved working with the kids at Brighter Beginning while also working in a restaurant.
Pat was very proud of the two restaurants that she and Fred owned and operated. One in
Colony, KS and the other in Mound City, KS. These were the roles she cherished most.
Pat's commitment to nurturing extended not only to her family and friends but also to the
children she cared for at daycare. Providing care, love, good company, amazing food, and
many boo- boo kisses to those beyond her own family.
She is survived by a loving family; her daughter Cindy Zimmerman; daughter-in-law Susan,
grandchildren Lindsey Miller (Shannon), Zach Zimmerman, Stephanie (Tyler), and Sarah
(Josh); great grandchildren Tristen Wood (Ganessa), Jalyn Johnson, Hayley Miller, Shayley
Miller, Kara Schlueter (Brhett), and six others; great- great- grandchildren Paisley, Killian,
Saylem, and Amelia. She is also survived by her sister Cheryl Cole.
She was preceded in death by her parents BT Baughn, Viola, and Roy Cole; her
husband Fred Cooper; her son Marty Cooper; and siblings Sam Hase, Sam Cole, Joe
Hase, Bobby Hase, and Connie Hase.
A celebration of life service will be held at the gymnasium at the Church of the Nazarene, 1313 W. 14th St. Chanute, KS on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests that donations be made to your local food bank in honor of Pat’s heartfelt wish
that no one should ever go hungry.
Pat's legacy of love, care, and culinary delight will be cherished and remembered by all
who knew her.
