Pearl "Bea" Cunningham's Obituary
Pearl Beatrice “Bea” Cunningham of Wichita, Ks, and formerly of Chanute, passed away Wednesday, April 16,, 2014 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Ks. Bea was born July 6, 1929, the daughter of Calvin and Hattie Mae (Carter) Prine in Emporia, KS.
Bea married Oscar H. Cunningham in Miami, OK, he preceded her in death. Oscar was formerly the mayor of Chanute and Bea started the Soup Line.
Bea is survived by her granddaughter; Melissa Gardner and husband John of Texas, son-in-law; Henry Bumgardner, granddaughter-in-law; Kelly Bumgardner, and five great-grandchildren; Miles and Grant Bumgardner, Maggie, Lorelei, and Jack Gardner.
She was preceded in death by her parents Calvin and Hattie, husband Oscar, daughter; Deanna Bumgardner, and grandson; Jeffrey Bumgardner.
Graveside services will be held April 19, 2014, 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Chanute Soup Line and may be mailed to or left with the funeral home. Countryside Funeral Home Gibson Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
