Phil Eugene Schuessler's Obituary
Phil Eugene Schuessler, age 53, a resident of Howard , Kansas passed away Monday, May 24, 2010 at the Howard Twilight Manor. He was born on October 25, 1956 in Hannibal , Missouri to Kenneth and Peggy (Nett) Schuessler.
His family moved to Wichita , Kansas where he attended West High School . While working at Coca-Cola Bottling Co, he met Kathy Mitchell. They were married on Sept 24th 1977 and were later divorced. To this union 2 children were born, Phillip Eugene and Jessica Marie.
Phil worked for many years for F.E.Bliss in Eureka , Kansas before becoming employed for Elk County Road Dept. He then was employed by the City of Howard for 10 years. He was a member of the Lion’s Club in Howard. Phil enjoyed fishing, woodworking projects and spending time with his grandchildren. He also had a great love for his dogs.
He is survived by his father Kenneth Schuessler, his mother Peggy Strecker and stepfather, Floyd Strecker all of Wichita, Kansas, one son Phillip Schuessler of Winfield, Kansas,one daughter Jessica Schuessler of Coffeyville, Kansas, one sister Beckey Morse of Wichita, Kansas, two step brothers Ron Bradley of Howard, Kansas and Mike Bradley of San Antonio, Texas, two grandchildren Jamaine and Kingston of Coffeyville, Kansas.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 28, 2010 at Zimmerman Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Spicer officiating. Family suggests memorial contributions to Howard City Dog Pound and may be left with the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com. Also the family will allow a memory time during the memorial service for those who would like to share their memories of Phil. Arrangements are under the direction of Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard , Kansas .
