Phyllis E. Crissey age 68 of Chanute, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. Phyllis was born on May 29, 1952 in Peachland, N.C., the daughter of Ollen G. Vest and Elsie Inez Danie Read Obituary
When Pastor Crissey and Phyllis first came to the Church in Chanute, my mother, Lucille Webb was a long time member of the old Church of God at 402 N Kansas for many long years. As well as all the family. Someone would pick her up and take he to church as she aged. Elias usually made sure she got there .
But when the Crissys came the first time to preach ţhere, mom was in the hospital in Wichita with several problems and who showed up Pastor Crissey, her new pastor who had not even met yet.
My mother was quite impressed. She passed away 20 years ago and he did her funeral, as well as my cousins funeral, Doris Brown, my brother, Kenney Webbs , my friend, Karen Welch and my best friend's father and member of the church, Charles Ritz a funeral.
The church has been good to families who attended and as small as it was, they showed love to all these famiies that attended ţhere. I have been there but never heard Phyliss preach but I've heard you could preach like her husband could.
I want to offer my condolences to the entire family especially Bro. Crissey.
May God keep you forever in the Lord's work.
We had so many wonderful times together when we lived in Maryland. No matter how far away we lived we still always remember those times. Such special memories. We love the Crissey family so much and send our prayers. Phyllis will be missed.
