Phyllis Jean Wilson's Obituary
Phyllis J. Wilson, age 91 of Chanute, KS, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019 at her home in Chanute, KS. She was born October 25, 1927 in Chanute, KS the daughter of Levi and Myrtle (Hunt) Gahman.
On July 18, 1948, Phyllis married Jack D. Wilson in Chanute and they had 4 children together. She was a strong woman of faith and was a member of First Christian Church. She was also a lifelong member of American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary.
Phyllis is survived by son, Gregory M. Wilson of Overland Park, KS; daughters, Tish Allen and husband Tim of Plano, TX and Nan Sheerer and husband Delbert of Chanute, KS. Three granddaughters, Alexa and husband Glenn Hower, Whitney and husband Tim Stinnett and Chelsea and husband Liam Meenagh; four great grandchildren, Quintus Hower, Charley Kerr, Landry Meenagh and Brooks Stinnett and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Jack, son, Kevin; two sisters, Florene Whitehead and Juanita Sellers; two brothers, Edward Gahman and Robert “Bob” Gahman.
A visitation will be on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home Gibson Chapel at 16 N. Forest, Chanute, KS. Funeral service will be on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Chanute. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute.
