Ramona Kathleen Herder's Obituary
Ramona Kathleen “Mona” Herder, 78, of Humboldt, KS passed away on May 5, 2019 at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute, KS. She was born on August 2, 1940 to Ernest and Alpha (Huffman) Smith in Independence, KS. She married Gordon Clark Herder on August 21, 1960 in Independence. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1988.
Mona graduated from Independence High School and from Independence Community College. She was a farm wife and a homemaker and later worked with a food service and as a para professional. Mona was a Master Gardner and loved helping others. Mona was a member of the Humboldt United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Hoe & Hope Garden Club, South Logan FCE, Kansas Association of Retired School Personnel, SEK Bottle & Relic Club and 4-H Leader.

Mona was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joan Catlett.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Humboldt First United Methodist Church in Humboldt, KS. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Humboldt United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. with interment following at DeWitt Cemetery in Humboldt, KS. The family suggests memorials to be made to the Humboldt United Methodist Church and Wings of Warriors Cancer Foundation and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 908 Central, Humboldt, KS 66748.
