Ray Edward Wheaton's Obituary
Ray Edward “Baby Cake” Wheaton, age 58 of Howard, KS, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at his home.
Ray was born September 8, 1964 in Sedan, KS to Eddie and Marion (Long) Wheaton. He graduated from Sedan High School in the class of 1983. He was employed at Arbuckle Trash Service and a former employee of Beller Family Farms for 20+ years.
On April 30, 2022, Ray married Diana Worden in Howard, KS. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, especially the grandkids. It didn’t matter if they were shooting guns, going to a demolition derby, or what the occasion was, he just wanted to be with them. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting for deer sheds, and going to auctions. He was a collector of all types of things, and would always find something to buy at an auction which he attended pretty much every week.
Ray is survived by his wife, Diana
Son, Robert (Kaittlin) Ford
Daughters: Elisha Crupper and Shelly (Darren) Underwood
Grandchildren: Logan, CJ, and Olivia Patten; Allee (Jonathan) Clark, Darren II and Kaden Underwood; Kennedy and Hayley Ford.
Great-Grandchildren: Ryker and Kyler Clark
Father, Eddie Ray Wheaton
Brother, Preston “Pete” Wheaton
Sisters: Edie (Bradley) Zimmerman and Valita (Jeff) Steenbergen
Nieces and nephews: Jocelyn, Jayton, Stephanie, Brooklynne, Jimmy
And his best fur buddy, Tinker
He was preceded in death by his mother, grandparents, and nephew JD
A memorial service will be held at the Elk County Fairgrounds in Howard on October 8, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
