Every child has a favorite grandma and grandma jean was mine. It's so hard for me to believe she's gone. I'll never forget her hugs and she's always spoil me and I always doted on her. I'll never forget going to visit grandma we'd get up early in the morning and have out bowl of oatmeal then it was off to do her morning errands then we'd stop at mcdonalds for a cheeseburger to tide us over till lunch then it was time for her soap operas. She'd stretch out in her recliner and I with a big fluffy pillow would curl up on the floor then we'd watch her stories until we both started snoring. Then waking up it was lunch time. Grandma loved to watch the birds in her back yard so in her garage she kept 2 huge plastic trash cans one was filled with corn a d the other with bird seed and every time I'd go visit she'd let me go fill the bird feeder then we'd sit and wait for the birds. She had a few cardinals that would hang around and every time we'd see one she'd look over at me and say Amy jo whenever you see a red bird it means good luck. Then she'd make lunch. I'll never forget our Sunday drives where I'd ride with her to make her rounds around town where she would go check up on her mom in the nursing home then it was off to my uncle her son rods house to check up on him and from there it was off to uncle Wes's house from there it was back to her house and on the way back not far from grandma's house was this long tunnel and before we'd drive through the tunnel she'd always tell me to close my eyes and make a wish but never tell what you wished for or it won't come true then she'd try to trick me by asking what did you wish for and I'd just giggle and say nope I'm not telling. Then just a couple short years before she left this earth on one of our last visits she told me to go into her room and on her dresser was her jewelry box and she told me to go look through it and if I found anything I liked I could have it and it just so happens I found a 14 carrot gold ring with 2 small rubies and one slightly larger ruby and a cluster of diamonds on the side of both small rubies and being that ruby is my birthstone I grabbed it and slipped it on my finger and I went into the kitchen to show her what I found and she looked at that ring and said there's a story for that ring and she told me the story which made it all the more special to me she said that grandpa bud had went to the jewelry store and bought this ring for her for her birthday and when he gave it to her she didn't really like it because it didn't fit her finger right so she never really wore it so she said she was glad that I loved it. And to this day I still have that ring and I've never took it off and now whenever I think of grandma or I start to miss her again or I see a red bird I'll spin the ring on my finger and I look up to heaven and say I love you grandma. I could drive through that tunnel right now I wish for one more day with Grandma I'd wish for one more Sunday Drive one more early morning errands more cheeseburger from McDonald's one more nap during her story and most of all I just wish for one more hug this one more moment with her so I can tell her how much I loved her tell her how much she meant to me. I miss and love you very much grandma I'll see you again someday I love you I love your little Amy jo
