Rex T. Vinette's Obituary
Rex T. Vinette passed away in Topeka, Kansas on January 12, 2024.
Rex was born September 15, 1951 in Winfield, Kansas to Darrel H. Vinette and Helen Thornton. He graduated from Howard High in 1969. He graduated from Emporia State University with a teaching degree, but worked as a carpenter. On September 20, 1980, he married Jane L. Vinette. Together they had a daughter, Rachael Vinette Parris and one granddaughter, Elizabeth “EJ” Parris.
Rex has three sisters, Mary Elliott, Jeanne Bjorklund and Janet Vinette. He has one niece, Ann Marie Riccomini and four nephews, Danny Stauffer, Mark Stauffer, Jonathan Stauffer, and Taylor Lapardo. Rex also has great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Darrel Vinette, his mother Helen, two brothers Darrel and Robert Vinette, a brother-in-law Mike Elliott, a son-in-law Stuart “Matt” Parris, as well as other family members.
Funeral services for Rex will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, KS. The family will receive friends at visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 AM prior to the service.
Due to weather conditions, the family requests not to go to the cemetery for interment.
In lieu of flowers, you can donate in Rex’s name to the NRA (National Rifle Association) or Shawnee County Helping Hands Humane Society in Topeka, and they may be mailed to or left with the funeral home.
