Richard L. Bailey's Obituary
Richard L. Bailey age, 66, of Chanute passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. Richard was born June 2, 1947, the son of Albert and Lucy (Stone) Bailey in Bryan County, OK.
He attended school in Chanute and after graduating joined the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. After three years of active duty he spent 20 years in the Kansas National Guard.
On November 30, 1990 he married Betty (Wyland-Bridges) in Miami, OK. Richard worked for Young’s Welding for 23 years in shipping. Richard’s life revolved around his grandchildren, and he spent as much time as possible with them.
Richard is survived by his wife Betty of the home, step-sons; Eddie Bridges of Chanute, Ks, Tom Bridges and wife Becky of Chanute, KS, grandsons; Blaze and Tom Mater Bridges, sons: Dale L Bailey of TN, Albert Bailey of WA, daughter; Patricia Bailey of WA, brother; Dale Bailey and wife Barbara of Chanute, Ks, sisters; Linda Moore of Iola, KS and Judy Nordt and husband Bryan of Chanute, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Lucy, and brothers; Wesley and Ronald Bailey.
Services will be held Monday, March 10, 2014 2:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to Chanute Christian Academy and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel.
