Richard Allen Smith, age 58 of Chanute, passed away Friday, December 18, 2015 in Chanute, KS. Richard was born on May 13, 1957 in Kansas City, MO the son of Charlie Smith and Virginia (George) Petty.
Richard loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren. In his later years he spent most of his time with his daughter, Melissa, who took care of him throughout his illness.

Richard was preceded in death by his dad, and brother, Paul Smith.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home – Johnson Chapel in Chanute. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, Johnson Chapel, 101 N. Highland in Chanute. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute.
