Richard Dayton Smith's Obituary
Richard Dayton Smith., age 85, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at the home Kansas City, Missouri. Richard was born on May 4, 1931 in rural Buffalo, KS to Guy and Fern (Sissom) Smith.
On January 23, 1955, he married Betty Jo Richardson in Chanute, KS. She survives him at their home.
Richard graduated from Fredonia High School and went on to serve in the Navy until November of 1954. He later worked as an adjuster for Federal Crop Insurance.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Jim Smith, and a sister: Joan (Smith) Scarth.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 2 – 3 PM at Countryside Funeral Home, Johnson Chapel. A Graveside Service will be held at Leanna Cemetery in Chanute on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 3:00 PM. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
