Richard Franklin Swisher. Sr., age 78, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 in Chanute, Kansas. Richard was born on April 15, 1938 in Kansas City, KS the son of Harold and Ruby Marie (Adcax) Swisher.
On June 17, 1967, Richard married Theresa (Rodriguez) Swisher in Kansas City, MO. Theresa survives him at their home.
Richard served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. Once his service was complete, Richard began work as a mason in the construction industry. He was a loving husband, dad, and “Pops” to his grandkids. Richard was known as a prankster but had “old-school” beliefs and was very protective of his family, especially his daughters. In his spare time, Richard loved trying to fix anything that was broken and enjoyed working on cars and fixing televisions.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Donald Swisher and Harold Swisher.
Cremation has been requested.
