Richard Lee Trotter's Obituary
Richard Lee Trotter passed away at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center on Dec. 22, 2014; he was 72 years old.
Richard was born on May 13, 1942 in Coffeyville, KS; the son of Floyd Emmett “Dick” and Alice (Nance) Williams. The family traveled and Richard grew up in several places; he lived in Texas for some time as well as Independence, KS.
Around 1968 Richard met and married Maryann (Campbell). The couple was blessed with two daughters: Kimberly and Sherri. Later, Maryann and Richard divorced. Richard made his home in Altoona, KS and worked as a welder in Neodesha, KS until his retirement around 2007. After retirement, Richard moved to Chanute to be close to his daughters. Richard enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman and a proud member of the Eagles Lodge in Neodesha.
Richard Lee Trotter was preceded in death by his father, his daughter Allison from his first marriage. He is survived by his loving daughters: Kimberly Ward and significant other Lance Splechter and Sherri Hand and significant other Jared Ray, all of Chanute, KS; his mother: Alice (Nance) Williams, sister: Sanda Smith and husband Meryl, all of Lecanto, Florida. In addition Richard is also survived by his companion Deborah Galloway of Chanute, KS as well as five grandchildren: Shannon Schellinger, McKenzie Spurrier, Kylie Hand, Tierra Ward, and Slade Costin and by one niece: Lesli Wood of AR, as well as many other friends.
Cremation is planned; Memorial Services for Richard Trotter are planned for Monday, Dec. 29, 2014 at the Church of the Nazarene at 10:30AM. The family will meet with friends the evening prior to the service, Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014 from 5:00-7:00PM at Countryside Funeral Home- Johnson Chapel in Chanute, KS.
