Robert E. Berckefeldt age 67 of Independence, KS, formally of Fredonia died Sunday, June 1, 2014, at his home. Robert was born on September 11, 1946 in Yakima, WA, the son of Gene and Josephine (Haafe) Berckefeldt.
In 1971, Robert married Ann Marie Stole they were married for 28 years until her death of March 21, 1999. Robert worked as a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the Independence American Legion. He enjoyed watching western movies, playing poker, and fishing.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Countryside Funeral Home, burial to follow at the Fredonia City Cemetery.. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the funeral home.
