Robert "Kevin" Gormley's Obituary
Robert Kevin Gormley, 57, of Chanute passed away at his home Sunday, January 26, 2014. Kevin was born July 3, 1956 in Chanute, KS the oldest son of Joseph and Allie Mae (Purvis) Gormley.
Kevin graduated from Chanute High School in 1974, and graduated from Neosho County Community College with an Associate’s Degree in 1976. He married Nancy Nelson in 1977, and was later divorced.
Kevin was self-employed in construction. He enjoyed being with family, hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors.
He is survived by his mother Allie Mae Gormley; daughters, Megan Pridmore and husband Donnie of Kansas City, MO, Melanie Gormley and fiancé Drew Judd of Topeka, KS; sister, Dorinda Carlson and husband Mike of Lenexa, KS; brother, Randy Gormley of Chanute, KS, and one grandson, Roland Pridmore.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Joseph; infant son Jeffrey Dane Gormley; and brother, James William Gormley.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 31, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., at the First Christian Church in Chanute, Pastor Tom Eastman officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday evening at Countryside Funeral Home Gibson Chapel from 6-8 p.m. Suggested memorial is to the Roland James Pridmore Educational Fund (grandson of Kevin) and may be left with or sent in care of the funeral home.
