Robert Thomas Lanning's Obituary
Robert Thomas Lanning age 57 died Friday, September 20, 2013 at his home in Hays, Kansas.
He was born March 22, 1956 in Mt. Shasta, CA to Bill and Dorothy (Iaconis) Lanning.
On October 22, 1977 he married Kim Hall in Wichita, Kansas. He was a school photographer for Lifetouch for 15 years in Wichita, Salina and Hays. He also worked at RANS and Advanced Auto in Hays. He was a member of the North Oak Community Church, Hays, and he was an avid collector of RC Airplanes, model trains, and toys. He was always quick with a joke and loved to make people laugh.
Survivors include his wife of Hays, one son, Joe Lanning of Overland Park, KS, one daughter Maggie Lanning of Sarasota, FL, his mother, Dorothy Brewer, of Howard, KS, four brothers, Bill (Patsy) Lanning of Howard, KS, Rick (Janice) Lanning of Liberal, KS, David (Cathy) Lanning of Cherryvale, KS, Keith (Becky) Lanning of Independence, KS.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Lanning.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Countryside- Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard, KS. Inurnment will be in the Cresco Cemetery, north of Howard, KS. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the donors choice or Hays Medical Center Foundation.
