Robert Lee Wallace's Obituary
Robert Lee Wallace of Fredonia, age 77, died Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Fredonia Regional Hospital. Robert was born January 26, 1932 to Ray K. and Josephine (Duncan) Wallace in Cherryvale, Kansas.
On January 1, 1955 Robert married Belva Henderson in Cherryvale, Kansas. Robert had worked in Cherryvale as an auto body repair man. He worked for the Kansas Bank Note, M-Katch and Co., and for Wilson County as a road grader operator and also in the county shop until he retired.
Robert was lovingly known as a “Jack of all trades.†Besides being a mechanic, he also built furniture. Robert and Belva took many long distance trips on their motorcycle, rode A.T.V.’s, went fishing and enjoyed hunting. Robert also enjoyed feeding his cats and watching them. Most of all, he enjoyed his family.
Survivors including his wife Belva are:
Daughter: Cindy Crites and husband Rusty of Fredonia, Kansas
Son: Clipper Wallace of Neodesha, Kansas
Sister: Josephine Cole of Cherryvale, Kansas
Half Brother: Manard George of Texas
Three grandchildren: Nathan Crites, Stephanie Crites and Brandi Wallace
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and a half brother and sister.
Cremation has been requested. The family will receive friends at Cindy and Rusty’s home at 515 N. 6th St., in Fredonia on Saturday October 24, 2009 from 1 to 3 pm. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Fredonia Flag Fund, and may be sent to the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.
