So sorry to hear about Bob. Worked with him for 17 years, I was on PD side, he was on FD side...I was radio operator, sent him to many fires, remember eating breakfast many times Sat or Sun mornings at fire dept. Boy were they good too. Prayers for the family.

I’m so sorry for his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and all of Bob’s Family and friends. Our Families all grew up just a block away on North Garfield. Bob was good friends with my brothers Byrle, Ron & Neil Haynes. Bob & Byrle we’re always doing things together back then too. In our neighborhood everyone seemed like family & holidays were always often shared in one way or another. I remember one 4th of July all the boys had lots of fireworks big explosion would be going off outside because they were all throwing them at one another. Now my Mom would make us 3 younger Haynes kids - Pattie, William & I (Janice) stay inside the house because the boys were 10 years older then I was & Mom knew it wasn’t safe. So us 3 kids would watch out of our picture window. Well this one time all those boys around the ages of 18-20 years old were throwing those, I believe M80s, at one another. My brother Byrle had just gotten a new red car that he had the windows rolled down parked in the so called Battle Field. Now these guys showed no mercy! Well Byrle threw something at one of them then jumped into his car, then someone tossed one into his back seat as he was jumping in, it blew a hole in his car seat! My Mom said see you kids that’s why you 3 can not go out there because they’re all crazy!! Aww life on North Garfield had lots of kids back in the 50s - 70s that was just like one BIG HAPPY FAMILY! Back in the day’s Neighbors took care of one another & enjoyed being together too. It was real concern for everyone from the heart, not just blowing up things either they all helped to get that car seat replaced too. Rest In Peace dear friend now your up there with Byrle, Ron & Neil Haynes it seems like most of the neighbors are there as well. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Bob and the gang were my first racing family. Some of my favorite times was going to the races with them. I also would stop at his room at Heritage when I worked there (maintenance) and talk about the racing days or the grandkids. Will miss his laugh and sarcasm.
