Robert Thomas Rumold's Obituary
Robert T. Rumold, 75, of Chanute, KS, passed away on March 30, 2018 at Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita, KS. He was born on November 22, 1942 in Wichita, KS. He was adopted by Vernon Ray and Minnie Rose (Leeds) Rumold on April 1, 1952. On August 2, 1986, he married Marita Nadine Perry in Emporia, KS. She survives at their home.
Robert was a loving dad and husband. He owned his own business as a remodeling contractor and enjoyed building furniture in his spare time. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Nitro AE23 where he was a pastry chef. He continued his love of cooking and baking through the years with some of his family’s favorites being cinnamon rolls, cream puffs, and pies. Robert was a big fan of watching old western movies, especially ones with his idol, John Wayne, and enjoyed the older sitcoms, including “All in the Family” and “Sanford and Son.” He was very friendly, and felt comfortable talking to anyone, especially if he was able to engage in a good debate.
