Robert "Bob" Shue's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Shue passed away at Montgomery Place in Independence, KS on February 9,
2015. Bob was born in Buxton, KS on July 21, 1933 to Edwin and Elva May (Milligan) Shue.
Bob was a lifelong resident of this area. Bob was a graduate of Fredonia High School. After high
school, Bob enlisted in the United States Army for 2 years. On June 10, 1956 Bob was united in
marriage to Joanna Lambert at the First Baptist Church in Fredonia.
Bob graduated from Kansas State University in 1960. He began his career as Regional Manager
for RCA & UNIVAC Computer Systems. In 1975, Bob and Jo bought the Montgomery Ward store
in Fredonia, which they ran for ten years. Bob began working for Lafarge Corporation in 1983 as
an Electrical Engineer. He retired from Lafarge in 1998, but was contracted to work for Lafarge
for many more years after his retirement. Bob also worked for Harlan’s Hardware and Steve’s
Hardware in Fredonia.
Bob was a member of the First Christian Church in Fredonia, a 35 year member of the Fredonia
Lions Club, a life- long blood donor and played a very important role in making the Mound Flag
Project a reality.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Brent Shue and his brother Gary Shue.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at Countryside Funeral
Home in Fredonia. Funeral Services will be Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the
First Christian Church in Fredonia. Interment will follow at the Fredonia City Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church in Fredonia or the Fredonia Lions Club
and may be left with or mailed to Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia. Online condolences
