Roberta "Jean" Edwards' Obituary
Roberta “Jean” Edwards, age 82, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Windsor Place in Iola, KS. Jean was born on January 26, 1935 in Allen County, KS the daughter of Ross D. and Alice D. (South) Hendrix.
Jean graduated from Neosho Falls High School in 1954. She married Bernard Charles Myer on October 2, 1954 in Iola, KS and they had four children. They later divorced. On June 20, 1990, she married John Arnett in Miami, OK. He preceded her in death in 2001. Jean married John Edwards on July 19, 2003 in Chanute, KS.
Jean worked at the Allen County Hospital in the house keeping department, the Tioga Hotel in Chanute, the Chanute Senior Citizen Center, Kustom Signal and Birdview Electronics. Jean was a past member of the Erie Federated Church and a current member of Ambassador Christian Church in Chanute. She enjoyed playing cards at the Chanute Senior Center and going on country drives. Most of all she loved spending time with family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Jean was a social bug and she will be greatly missed.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Arnett; and a brother Charles “Bud” Hendrix.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 4-6 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home – Johnson Chapel 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at Ambassador Christian Church in Chanute. Interment will follow at Erie Cemetery in Erie, KS.
