Roger Dean Ortiz's Obituary
Roger Dean Oritz, 55, of Chanute, and formerly of Danville, Indiana passed away at his residence in Chanute surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Roger was born September 04, 1958 the son of Vincent and Juanita (Serrato) Ortiz.
Roger graduated from Humboldt High School, and on July 3, 1983 he married Cyndee Roy in Humboldt.
Roger worked as a painter, and his hobbies included Kansas City Chiefs football, KU athletics, fishing, and most of all spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Cyndee of the home, his children; Sierra Bauer of Wichita, KS, Roger Corey Ortiz of Danville, IN, Maxamilion Donte Ortiz of Danville, IN, siblings; Teresa (Ortiz) Estrella of Denver, Co, Patti (Ortiz) Hanes of Eudora, KS, Randall Ortiz of Lawrence, KS Eddie Ortiz of Humboldt, KS, Carla (Ortiz) Tabares of Chanute, KS and grandchildren; Olyvia Ortiz of Chanute, KS, and Jaxson and Madyson Bauer of Wichita, KS.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Juanita Ortiz.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Monday, February 3, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. with a rosary being prayed at 10:00 a.m. Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 12:00-2:00 p.m.
