Rosa Phyllis Torrez's Obituary
Rosa Phyllis Torrez, 71, of Topeka Kansas died September 20, 2015 at Plaza West Care Center. Rosa was born in Arkansas City, Kansas on September 20, 1944, but spent the better part of her life in Chanute, KS. She was daughter of Emelia Esparza Torrez Perez and Benito Torrez, both deceased.
She was also preceded in death by her sister Patricia Stewart in 2006.
She is survived by her aunt Gen Orozco of Topeka where she resided for several years before entering Plaza West Care Center as her permanent residence. Also surviving are nieces Linda Stewart of Wichita KS, and Veronica Adkinson of Commerce City CO, and nephew and spouse Tom & Heather Stewart of Wichita KS. Also surviving are several great nieces and nephews, and countless aunts and uncles.
Services will be held in Chanute, KS on Thursday September 24, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with a visitation following until 8 o'clock. Interment will be at a later date.
Family requests memorials to a charity of donor’s choice and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home at 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS.
