Rosalee Hawley's Obituary
Rosalee Hawley 95, of Fredonia, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at her home. Rosalee was born on July 27, 1930, in Fredonia, the daughter of Thomas and Ina (Robertson) O’Brien.
Rosalee was a graduate of Fredonia High School class of 1949. On March 28, 1958, Rosalee married Cecil Hawley. Rosalee worked for many years for the Food Town Grocery Store in the meat department, after her retirement from there. She then went to work at the Kansas Bank Note for several more years. Rosalee enjoyed staying busy, she then started volunteering at the Mercy House and delivered Meals on Wheels up to the age of 92.
In her younger years, Rosalee enjoyed bowling and was a member of the women’s bowling league. Rosalee and Cecil enjoyed taking their camper and traveling going up into Canada and out to California to visit with family and friends. Rosalee and Cecil were married for almost 49 years, when Cecil passed away on February 28, 2007.

Four Grandchildren:
Danny Hawley, Michelle Rehler, Lane Hawley and Sage Lawrence
Nine Great Grandchildren
Numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosalee was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cecil a son Danny Hawley and sisters: Joann Wilbur, Connie Robertson, Alice Lancaster and Elizabeth Armstrong.
Cremation has been requested with a Celebration of Life Service to be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia. Memorials in her memory have been suggested to Meals on Wheels and can be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
