Rosie Esther Kullman's Obituary
Rose Esther “Rosie” Kullman, age 83, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 surrounded by her family. Rosie was born in Bolivar, Missouri on April 16, 1934, the daughter of William Matterson "Matt" Ethridge & Mary Esther (Polston) Ethridge.
Rosie lived in the Bolivar area until moving to Chanute, Kansas around 1972. She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, canning, quilting and embroidering, growing and planting flowers. She also enjoyed traveling with "her girls" and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Rosie is survived by her sister, Marie Eckewright of Gas, KS; children, Leonard Ethridge and wife Priscilla of Bolivar, MO., Karen Gutierrez, of Emporia, KS., Kathy and husband Scott Dierks of Chanute, KS., and Elmer Akins Jr. and wife Desiree of Chanute, KS.; step-son John Kullman and his wife Jeanette of Sedalia, MO; step-daughter, Joletta VanHoose of Claremore, OK.; twenty grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Leo Thomas Ethridge, Leila Kathrine Barrett, Walter Eldon Ethridge, William Robert Ethridge, Ward Noel Ethridge and both husbands, Elmer Akins and Elmer Kullman.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 6-7 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home – Johnson Chapel 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS. A funeral service will be on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home – Johnson Chapel. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, MO.
