Ruby Amelia (Howerton) Saving's Obituary
Ruby Amelia (Howerton) Saving, age 95, of Chanute, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016 in Chanute, Kansas. Ruby was born on December 8, 1920 in Savonburg, KS the daughter of Lee Raymond and Minnie Alpha (Peterson) Howerton.
On June 22, 1940, Ruby married Vincent August Saving in Joplin, MO. Vincent preceded her in death on October 9, 1986.
Ruby was a housewife and a helper to her husband on the farm for 20 years before moving to town. After that, Ruby was employed by Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center as a lab tech for 26 years. Ruby enjoyed her family, her yard and flowers, feeding the birds, and doing volunteer work in the community. Ruby was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Ladies Circle, LWML and the Piece Makers, a quilting group at church. Ruby was well known for her homemade pies and bread.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vincent; and daughter-in-law, Nancy Saving.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chanute, KS on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute.
