Ruby Wanda Tabers' Obituary
Ruby Wanda Tabers, age 75, a resident of New Albany, Kansas passed away Friday, March 20, 2009 at Golden Living Center in Neodesha, Kansas. Ruby was born October 8, 1933 in Holdenville, Oklahoma the daughter of Clevey and Valora Mae (Johnson) Wood.
On October 31, 1953 Ruby was united in marriage to James Tabers in Ada, Oklahoma. Ruby was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Fredonia. Ruby enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, bowling, and putting puzzles together.
Ruby is survived by two sons; Ronald Tabers of Chanute, Kansas and Donald Tabers and his wife Suzanne of Hanford, California, two daughters; Peggy Anderson and her husband Bud of New Albany, Kansas and Judy Plymesser and her husband Bob of Fredonia, Kansas, two brothers; Jim Wood of Wichita, Kansas and Charles Wood of Bentonville, Arkansas, four sisters; Lorene Morris of Bell, Florida, Jessica Bayless of Lebanon, Oklahoma, Jeanine Teel of Ada, Oklahoma, and Linda Purdy of Sunray, Texas, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband James on May 16, 2000.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Countryside Funeral Home with Rev. Eldon Myers officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until 8 PM Wednesday with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Weakley Cemetery. Family suggests contributions to ALS-KU Endowment and may be left in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com.
