Ruth Joanne Hisle's Obituary
Ruth Joanne (Sheel) Hisle, 95 of Portland, TX., passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Ruth was born on December 23, 1930, in Piedmont, KS., the daughter of Emera Frederick and Opal Gladys (Criger) Sheel.
She was raised in Moline, KS., and graduated in 1948, from Moline High School. Following graduation, she met the love of her life, Richard W. "Dick" Hisle and they were united in marriage on November 14, 1948.
To this union, three children were born; Linda Carol, Richard Dean and Gary David. Following the death of her husband Richard, and a daughter Linda, Ruth located to Texas to be closer to her sons and grandchildren.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Richard, daughter Linda, parents, brothers and sisters-in-law Eldon Lee (Barbara) Sheel, Harold Frank (Lavoy) Sheel.
Ruth is survived by her sons: Richard (Betty) Hisle of Portland, TX and Gary (DeeDee) Hisle of Corpus Christi, Tx.
Grandchildren: Melissa (Michael) Doddridge of Campbell, TX, Brian Hisle of Portland, TX., Alan (Jocelynn) Villarreal of Georgetown, TX., and Thomas (Michelle) Hisle of Rockport, TX.
Great Grandchildren: Isaish (Katie) Vestal of Fort Walton Beach, FL., Nicholas (Faith) Doddridge of Commerce, TX., Noah Doddridge of Campbell, TX., Annalisa (Trevor) Ferguson of Lone Oak, TX., Skyler Hisle of Portland, TX., Nathaniel Doddridge of Campbell, TX., Reagan Hisle of Portand, TX., Amelia Hisle of Rockport, TX., and Andy and Edison Villarreal of Georgetown, TX.
Great-Great Granddaughter Isabella Doddridge of Commerce, TX.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 11:00 am, with visitation being held 1 hour prior to service time at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, with burial to follow at Moline City Cemetery.
