Ruth Irene Hunter's Obituary
Ruth Irene (VanVickle) Hunter, age 93, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015 in Loveland, OH. She was a homemaker and talented seamstress, needleworker and crocheter.
Ruth was born on October 2, 1921 to Lankford John and Jesse Irvin VanVickle in Earlton, KS. She attended Kansas Public Schools in Wilson County, KS, and on April 20, 1940, married Marvin Hunter in Erie, KS. Ruth and Marvin lived in Kansas City for 40 years before moving to Chanute where they lived for over 20 years. They were members of First Baptist Church, Chanute, KS.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Vicki Hunter Ross of Cincinnati, OH; son-in-law, Bing Bingham of Kansas City, KS; four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin, her daughter Nancy Hunter Bingham, and two brothers, Wayne and John VanVickle.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be a private burial at Memorial Park Cemetery on Saturday, September 19, 2015, 10 AM. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, Chanute, KS, 118 North Forest, Chanute, KS, 66720.
