Ruth McNown
Ruth McNown 75, of Towanda, passed away Saturday November 15, 2008 at Lake Point Nursing Center of Augusta. Ruth was born January 14, 1933 in Independence, KS, the daughter of Archie and Millie (Klatt) Davis.
Ruth attended and graduated from Moline High School in 1951. Ruth married Don McNown, her high school sweetheart, at the Moline Methodist Church Parsonage in Moline, KS on July 18, 1953; they were married for 54 years until Don passed away on July 16, 2008.
Ruth was a member of the Towanda Methodist Church. She worked as a secretary for several years. However her most important job was taking care of their home and her family.

Brian McNown of Spring Hill KS
Logan, Levi and Landon McNown of El Dorado, KS
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Don, her parents Archie and Millie Davis, her twin brother Merlin Davis of Hutchinson, brother Kenneth Davis of Iola and infant brother Charles Davis.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday November 19, 2008 at the Moline City Cemetery with her nephew Pastor Mark Davis of the Cedar Vale First Baptist Church officiating. There will be no public visitation. The family suggests memorial contributions to the: United Methodist Church of Towanda or Good Shepard Hospice and may be left with the funeral home.
