Samantha "Sammy" Rnee McMillan's Obituary
Samantha “Sammy” Rnee McMillan, age 37, of Walnut, KS, passed away on November 12, 2017 in Ottawa, KS. She was born on January 17, 1980 to Johnny Burke and Addie (Thornton) Madl in Chanute, KS and graduated from Chanute High School in 1998.
Sammy was a loving mom, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her smile, laughter, and fearless attitude were contagious. She was a music lover, especially of the 90’s genre, and her happy place was Kansas City, home of her beloved Royals of which she was the biggest fan. Sammy was a social butterfly who knew no strangers and will be irreplaceable to a multitude of friends.
Sammy worked for Heritage Health Care and Tri-Valley Developmental Services in Chanute, KS. She was a member of Chanute Elks Lodge 806, President of the Walnut Public Library Board, and an active advocate for autism awareness.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel. Sammy’s family requests Royals or blue clothing be worn to the funeral service on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 10 am at the First Baptist Church Good News Center in Chanute, KS. Cremation will follow. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. Memorials have been suggested to the Meg McMillan Education Fund and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. The family will be having a dinner after the services at Walnut Hall, 300 Burns Street in Walnut, KS for all who would like to attend.
