Samuel D Ornelas' Obituary
Samuel D. Ornelas, 85, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Heritage Healthcare. Sam was born on May 30, 1940, in Chanute, Kansas, the son of John Ornelas and Myrtle (Allen) Ornelas. Sam and Billie Ellis were married in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 11, 1981. Sam was a total Car Buff; he was a mechanic and loved anything on wheels.
Sam is survived by his wife Billie and daughter Deborah (Al) Alessandra of Keller, Texas. A Grand-Daughter Ashley (Conrad) Allessandra and Grandson Christopher Colbath. A stepson Lester Lock of Bellville, Kansas. Sisters: Phyllis Martindale (Kenny) of Hawthorne, CA., Shirley Hutton of Chanute, KS; Brother; Kenneth (Joan) Ornelas of Chanute, KS.; and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Chanute, Kansas. Memorials in Sam’s memory have been suggested to the First Christian Church and may be left with or mailed to the funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.
