Samuel "Sam" Levi Trigg's Obituary
Samuel “Sam” Levi Trigg, age 77 of Elk Falls, KS, passed away December 19, 2023 at Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Sedan, KS.
Sam was born October 5, 1946 in Guymon, OK to Oval and Viola Trigg. On July 16, 1965, he married Martha Jane Jones in Longton, KS. They were married 45 years until her passing in January of 2011.
Sam was a hard worker and loved to be outdoors. He would often leave the house before the sun came up and wouldn’t come back in the house until dinner time that evening. He worked for the Sante Fe Railroad, then WATCO Railroad, in total 37 years before retiring. In his spare time, he enjoyed cutting wood, working in the greenhouse with Martha, and even spent some time fishing and camping with the family at the Hitching Creek.
He is survived by his children:

Nina Teska of Longton, KS
Mary Torres of El Paso, TX
10 Grandchildren, and 3 Great-grandchildren
Sisters: Ladonna Collins of Wichita, KS and Jane Vantuyl of Kennwick, WA
His is preceded in death by his parents, son, Jim Trigg, brothers, Chet and Vincent, and sisters, Sue and Ann
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, KS
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at the Community Christian Church in Longton, KS.
Burial will follow in Elk Falls Cemetery, Elk Falls, KS
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Elk County Sheriffs Office or the Longton City Fire Department and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
