Sandra Jean Small's Obituary
Sandra Jean “Sandy†Small, age 71, a resident of Howard, Kansas passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at her home in Howard. Sandy was born on April 9, 1938 in Iola, Kansas the daughter of Frank and Frances (Sherwood) Milne.
Sandy was a graduate of Iola High School class of 1956. On February 17, 1990 Sandy was united in marriage to Ernest Small in Iola, Kansas. She was a homemaker. Sandy served on the Howard Library Board and was a member of the Howard Chamber of Commerce.
She is survived by her husband Ernest Small of the home, one son Bryan Manion and his wife Kelly of Lawrence, Kansas one daughter Sarah Nelson and her husband Bill of Liberty, Missouri, step-children Renee Bartos and husband Stanley of Prague, Oklahoma, Tony Small and wife Barbara of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Stacy Riggins and husband Bill of Lawrence, Kansas, thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Robert Milne, and one great grandchild Denton Marrs.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Zimmerman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Iola, Kansas at 3:00 PM. The family suggests memorial contributions to either the Howard City Library or Kansas State University Cancer Research and may be left with the funeral home.
