Sandra Kay Thompson's Obituary
Sandra Kay Thompson, age 73, of Chanute, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in Wichita, Kansas. Sandra was born on October 31, 1942 in Wood County, West Virginia the daughter of Griel Eugene and Vernice Ilene (Haddox) Goff.
On January 21, 1961 Sandra married Jerry Lee Trisel who preceded her in death on October 18, 1965. Then on August 3, 1966 she married Virgil Ray Thompson. Virgil preceded her in death in 2007.
Sandra retired from Wal- Mart where she worked as an associate in the deli. After her retirement she worked at the Chanute Safari Museum and the Faith House Homeless Shelter. She loved cats, liked country music and enjoyed watching television in her free time. In her younger days she was involved in the TOPS club and as she got older she enjoyed spending time with her friends drinking coffee at the senior center. She loved her God, her country and the Republican Party.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands Jerry and Virgil.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Westview Southern Baptist Church in Chanute, KS on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. Memorials have been suggested to the Faith House Homeless Shelter and may be left with or mailed to the Westview Southern Baptist Church.
