Sara King's Obituary
Sara King, age 75, passed away on Saturday July 13th, 2024 at Neodesha Care and Rehabilitation Center in Neodesha, KS. Sara was born on July 13th, 1949 to Dorothy and Everett Bricker in Marysville, KS.
Sara graduated high school from Iola, KS in 1967. She continued her education in 1968 by completing classes at IBM Computer School and attending Boise State College in 1974.
Throughout the years, Sara did office work as an accountant, a coordinator, an accounting manager and an income tax preparer.
In the summer of 1969 Sara married Larry LaCrone. Out of this union came two children. They later divorced. She then married Randall King and they shared a life and many years in South Carolina.
In late 2004 Sara suffered a stroke that left her fully paralyzed on her left side, resulting in major life changes that brought her back to southeast Kansas. Although she was wheelchair bound, after many years of being in and out of nursing home facilities, Sara decided that her own apartment was what she wanted. That is exactly what happened. Needing care for most hours of the day would not have been possible without the help of some workers who became close friends over the years.
Sara loved to cook, read, watch cooking shows, and having visitors. Her orneriness was liable to show through in some way, even on the darkest days.
Sara is survived by her two children: Chad (Shaina) LaCrone of Afton, OK and Chandra LaCrone of Anderson, SC
Seven grandchildren: Nichole LaCrone (Ryan) Shadduck, Zachary Wood, Cierra Wood, Bryson Wood, Savanah LaCrone (Jeremy) Busch, Izzy LaCrone and Paxden LaCrone
Three Great Grandsons and Four Great Granddaughters
Siblings Charles Bricker of Centerville, OH, Sue (Steve) Hoffman of Salina, KS, and Deborah (Doug) Lloyd of Branson, MO
Sara is preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Everett Bricker, Sister-In-Law Victoria Bricker, and husband Randall King.
Cremation has been requested at this time. A Celebration of life will take place at a later date with the family in Fredonia, KS. Memorials can be made out to Home Town Hospice and may be left with or mailed to Countryside Funeral Home 420 S. 20th St. P.O Box 247 Fredonia, KS 66736
