Sharon Kay Hall's Obituary
Sharon Kay Hall, age 69 of Toronto, KS, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024, while surrounded by loved ones at her home.
Sharon was born May 9, 1954 in Wichita, KS, the first born to Louie and Lucy “Faye” (Shannon) Long. She grew up in Valley Center, KS, alongside one brother and one sister.
On July 18, 1981, Sharon married Michael Hall in Fredonia, KS, blending their two families into one. They enjoyed the next 43 years together, raising their children, and then watching their grandchildren grow.
Sharon did many things in her life, from running a convenience store and working in the café in Fall River, working as a seamstress in Fredonia, to working in the kitchen at Fredonia Regional Hospital. She then went to work at the nursing home in Chanute until her health started to decline and was forced to retire in 2000.
She was a talented artist, and her finished products showed it. Whether it was woodworking, making Mahogany baby cradles and toys for her grandkids, or picking up the paintbrush and painting very detailed chickens on all the kitchen cabinet doors in her home, her work looked as if it was professionally done. She also enjoyed sewing and was a great seamstress, always having to have a top end sewing machine.
In her spare time, Sharon enjoyed fishing and camping, and could always find time to read a good murder mystery book.
