Sharon Lynne Rice's Obituary
Sharon Rice, 57, went to be with her heavenly Father on October 4, 2014. Funeral Services will be held in Chanute, Kansas at Ambassador Christian Church at 1:30 pm on Thursday October 9, 2014. Sharon was born on October 25, 1956 to Melvin and Mildred Pederson in Topeka, KS.
She graduated from Topeka High School in 1974 and earned an Associates Degree from Neosho County Community College in 2008. She was united in marriage to James Rice on July 12, 1975. Sharon's work history included assistant manager and eventual co-owner of the Spirit of Love Bookstore, 19 years as a church secretary and 7 years as the Bookstore Assistant at Neosho County Community College. Her loves included bowling, music, old movies, reading; Royals Baseball, supporting NCCC activities/athletics, and always being involved in a variety of church activities. Most of all she loved spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Cecilia Music Club and AKCCOP.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, James; son Tim Rice and wife Megan; daughter Jaime and husband Ryan Huff; brother Ron Pederson and wife Cindy; and grandchildren Deven, twins Boston and Broden, and Addisyn Rice; Rylie and Jailee Huff. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials have been established for Ambassador Christian Church, and the NCCC Foundation.
