Sharon Kay Shea's Obituary
Sharon Kay Shea, age 73, of Chanute passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Sharon was born June 2, 1940 in Iola, KS, the daughter of Thomas and Ethel (Deaton) Griffith.
Sharon graduated from Chanute High School with the class of 1958 and later attended Neosho County Community College. On January 6, 1983 she married James Shea in Chanute, where they continued to make their home. She was retired from OPF, Inc. where she was employed for many years as Office Manager.
Sharon is survived by her husband James of the home; daughters, Lisa LaRue and partner Joy Spilker of Wichita, KS, Lori Nickell and husband Aaron of Manhattan, KS, Vicki Fleming and husband Jon of Cherryvale, KS, Brian Shea of Coeur d’Alene, ID; Cindy Shea of Edmond, OK; Marc Shea and wife Kristen of Edmond, OK; sister, Mary Lou Wilson of Chanute, KS; brother, Jerry Griffith and wife Sheila of Humboldt, KS, and grandchildren, Paige Nickell, Jennifer Han and husband Jared; Amy Sharp and husband Tyler; Stephanie Fleming, Jessica Fleming, Katie Fleming, Michael Shea, Baylee McMakin, and great-grandchildren, Jackson Han, Carter Sharp, and Riley Sharp.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Ethel; brothers, Tommie, H.L., Billy, John Wesley, Ronald "Dean", and Richard "Dick" Griffith, and two infant sisters.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Family suggests memorials to Faith
House Homeless Shelter of Chanute and may be mailed to or left with the funeral home. Care has been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel of Chanute.
