Shawn Carl Carlson's Obituary
Shawn Carl Carlson Age 53 received his wings and departed to his new place in Heaven.
January 18th, 2024, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN. Shawn was born on January 13th, 1971 in Fredonia, KS. Graduated from Fredonia High School 1989, where he was Valedictorian of his class. He attended college in Enid Ok, and then went to Emporia State University, finished out at Kansas University in Lawrence KS., with a bachelor General studies Degree. Moved to Austin, TX where he started his career working for Hayes Software Systems, for 15 years, where he was loved and respected by his co-workers, many of whom became lifelong friends. Shawn married James, the love of his Life, Dec. 2nd, 2013 and moved to Kansas City, where he was employed by LexMarx, 4 years. After that James and Shawn moved to Memphis, TN employed by St. Jude Children Hospital 4.5years.
Shawn is survived by his husband, James Carlson of Memphis, TN. Parents Bert and Cathy Carlson of Fredonia KS, Sister Rosalie Carlson of Emporia KS, Aunt - Melissa Shoaf of Fredonia KS, Nephews, Trevor Hegg of Emporia KS, Jesse Hegg of Yates Center KS.
Shawn is preceded in death by his Grandparents Buddy and Nellie Claibourn of Fredonia KS, Grandfather Eric {Swede} Carlson of Coyville, KS.
Cremation has taken place at Nashville Cremations Services. Inurnment will be made at a later date.
